The Physiograph Block was born out of veterinarians placing the Physiopad on top of a Comfort X-ray Block to see how the horse was distributing his weight over each hoof.

On a solid block, one cannot tell where or how much weight the horse is placing on each hoof. The Physiograph Block will yield to pressure. The Physiopad side will "give" depending upon where the horse is placing his weight (toe, heel, evenly across the hoof), which will be evident on the radiograph.

Placing the Comfort Block side up will create a stiffer surface for the hoof but still yield to the weight distribution on the Physiopad side, which is on the ground.

Caring For Your Blocks

Before using SURE FOOT Pads or Blocks for the first time, rub a small amount of dirt or footing on the colored surface. This will prevent them from sticking together or from sticking to the horse’s hoof during the initial use.

If needed, Pads and Blocks can be cleaned with a sponge and warm water.

SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are a tool to benefit horses. Though durable, just like your other equipment they will show wear and tear over time. Nicks, tears, and cuts are considered normal and do not alter the effect of the Pads in any way.

Store SURE FOOT Pads where rodents can't get to them. When not using the Pads, please don't leave them:

  • In a closed vehicle (like a car or trailer)
  • Exposed to excessive heat
  • Out in prolonged sunlight

Simply - if you wouldn’t leave your dog there, don’t leave your Pads there.
