Specifications
Each standard Pad is 12” x 10” x 2” (30cm x 25cm x 5cm) which provides sufficient area for the horse’s hoof as well as enough thickness for compression. Their rectangular shape allows the different density Pads to be paired or stacked.
Slants are also rectangular, but cut on an angle along the length. Their size is 12” x 10” x 3” (25cm x 30cm x 7.6cm).
- Individual Pads weigh between 6 oz (170 grams) and 1 pound, 4 oz (567 grams).
- The full Physiopad is 12” x 24” x 1.5” ( 30cm x 60cm x 3.8cm) and weighs 2 lb, 9 oz (1.16 kg). It can accommodate two front hooves or two rear hooves at the same time.
- The half Physiopad is 12” x 16” x 1.5” (30cm x 40cm x 3.8cm), rectangular in shape, and weighs 1 lb, 5 oz (595 grams).
- Each Pad is color-coded on one side with DuraFlex, a highly durable, anti-microbial coating.
- Advanced Pods are 7” diameter, half-round air-filled domes with nubs on the surface.
- There is no weight-load limit. All Pads, Slants, and Pods can be used with horses of any size, weight, or breed.
Assembled in the USA.
Using Your Pads
Please familiarize yourself with the SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program® before using SURE FOOT Pads. We highly recommend watching the Quick Start Guide prior to offering Pads to your horse for the first time. Also check out the illustrated SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program Workbook which can be taken to the barn!
- Use caution when first offering - make sure your horse is comfortable with them.
- Start by having your horse in an open space, like an enclosed arena.
- Keep your horse on a lead rope when using Pads, rather than cross ties.
- Position the Pads with your foot - keep hands away from hooves.
- Allow your horse to walk off the Pads if he needs to move.
- Never leave your horse unattended while using the Pads.
Always check with your veterinarian before using the Pads for any specific conditions or unsoundness.
Note: SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are a tool to benefit your horse. Though durable, just like your other equipment they will show wear and tear over time. Nicks, tears, and cuts are considered normal and do not alter the effect of the Pads in any way.
Caring For Your Pads
Before using your SURE FOOT Pads for the first time, rub a small amount of dirt or footing on the colored surface. This will prevent them from sticking together or from sticking to the horse’s hoof during the initial use.
If needed, Pads can be cleaned with a sponge and warm water.
Store your SURE FOOT Pads where rodents can't get to them. When not using the Pads, please don't leave them:
- In a closed vehicle (like a car or trailer)
- Exposed to excessive heat
- Out in prolonged sunlight
Simply - if you wouldn’t leave your dog there, don’t leave your Pads there.
